Kuang Si Waterfall

We took a short trip to Laos last April. It was wonderful to go north and get out of the heat (April is the hottest month in Cambodia). We took a long bus ride with vomiting passengers through mountains to Luang Prabang. It’s a charming town, but definitely a tourist town. I ate 3-4 mango smoothies a day and yummy noodle soup for very cheap.

The Kuang Si Waterfall is maybe 45 minutes out of town. The main waterfall is quite tall, but nothing really impressive compared to the waterfalls in Yellowstone Park. After the main waterfall, the water continues to cascade down through multiple tiers creating natural swimming pools. It reminded me of Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica where you can start climbing from the bottom of the falls to the top.

The photo above is of one of the smaller tiers of the Kuang Si Waterfall. Photo of the main waterfall to come soon.
